Rathcline Club Notes 20th November 2016

posted 28 Nov 2016, 14:07 by Rathcline Public Relations Officer

On Monday night 14th November, the 50/50 draw took place in the Yacht Bar and the lucky winner of last week’s pool of €404 pool was Martin O’Halloran, The Green. Your continued support for the draw is greatly appreciated and it is excellent that your continued support in keeping the pool over €400 practically every week.

Blue envelopes are on sale locally in all shops and pubs and from club executive members and your growing support is hugely appreciated. You also have the opportunity of buying the pink ticket for €100 and that includes you in the draw for 52 weeks.

The Annual General Meeting of the club will take place in the clubhouse in Clonbonny on this Sunday evening at 6.30pm.

It is very important that there is large turnout for this Annual Meeting. Decisions must be made towards the future development of the club and the election of officers to take charge of the club for the coming year. Please come along and play your part.

There are a lot of people that helped the club over the past years and we as a club are deeply indebted to everyone that helped us.

The club would like to thank everyone that supported out play in the Parish Hall on Saturday night last. A special word of thanks to Anne for her help with the spot prizes and hamper, to the young people that sold tickets for the draw, those that did the shop and everyone that sold tickets in advance of the play.

The AGM of the Minor club took place on Friday night last and the new executive formed is as follows: Chairperson Tina Dowd, Vice Chairperson Colette Wyse, Secretary Sharon Dowd, Ass. Secretary Mark Casey, Treasurer Mary Teresa Mc Grath, Ass. Treasurer Dominick Mc Grath, Registrar Sinead Farrell, Children’s Officer Bríd Gordon and PRO Joe O’Brien.

The club had a very successful year in all competitions both on our own winning U12 and U14 titles and being very competitive in all other grades in our amalgamation with Grattan’s. It is very important that we continue our way back to the top of underage football at all grades and we would encourage every young player and their parents to play a very proactive role in this development. We will ensure that every young person in the person in the parish that wants to play ball will get the opportunity to do so. There are a number of new families moving into the parish and we would like to welcome them and encourage their participation in our club.

In the past year, we had a good number of dedicated and excellent management teams and they played a massive role in the progression of our players. We would like to thank all management teams, all players and their families and all supporters for the encouragement and support they continually give us.

If you want to be part of this vibrant, energetic, exciting and proactive club please contact any of the above committee. We would be delighted to hear from you and welcome you into our fold.

Congratulations to Fermoyle NS who won the their Cumann na mBunscol final during the week.

The Rathcline ladies held their AGM in the clubhouse on Sunday evening last. The report can be see elsewhere in these notes.

The Christmas draw will take place again as usual and we would again call on your support. This draw is hugely important to the club going forward as the proceeds goes to the paying of the insurance, registration and entry to competitions for the coming year.
