Well done to senior player Shane Casserley, Clonfower, on winning the 2 All-Ireland final tickets for Sunday last. The club would like to sincerely thank everyone that bought lines in the draw.

The luck of the replay means that there will be another draw taking place for 2 Premium tickets for the replay on Saturday 1st October.

The 50/50 draw for a prize of €406 took place in Adie’s on Monday night 12th September and the lucky winner was Breda O’Loughlin, Lough Ree Park.

Congratulations to Denis Connerton on being ratified a county senior football manager for the next 2 years. We wish Denis and his team management the very best of luck for the year ahead.

The U21 panel are training under the guidance of Anthony and Sean Farrell and any player not yet attended are asked to come along.

Pride of place this week must go to the Shannon Gaels U12 team who won the Division 3 Plate final on Saturday last in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park when they defeated a very fancied Northern Gaels. The team and panel that brought the trophy to the parish were Jack Madigan, Jane Dowd, Kevin Farrell, Daire Cox, Aoife Kennelly, Aaron Kenny, Jamie Hagan, Holly Wyse, Kieran O’Dowd, Jimmy Farrell, Sam Murphy, Cormac Casey, Killian Cox, Callum Gordon, James Killian, Dylan Hanly, Niall Chawke, Luke Dowd, Isabelle Smyth, Josie Myhill and Polly Myhill. For the record the final score was Shannon Gaels –

The club would like to extend their gratitude to Seamus and Una Clarke and Lough Ree Community Resources for their generous sponsorship of our U12 team. For the record the final score was Shannon Gaels 1-9 Northern Gaels 2-4

The senior and minor club would like to wish the Longford Ladies the very best of luck in their All-Ireland final on Sunday next in Croke Park when they take on Antrim. We say a special good luck to Anne Duffy, Mahoraveen, who has returned from injury in time to take her place on the panel, Dara Mc Gann who is a vital member of the management team and Madaleine who is Chairwoman of the Longford Ladies County Board.
