Rathcline Club Notes 11th October 2015

posted 13 Oct 2015, 10:35 by Rathcline Public Relations Officer
League Division 2 – Well done to the lads on their 3-18 to 2-13 win over Grattans in the league on Saturday evening. This means we now face Fr. Manning Gaels in a promotion/relegation playoff on Friday evening next at 8.30pm with the venue yet to be confirmed. This is a huge game for the club as we look to get promoted back to Division 1. Again we’re asking everyone to come to the game and show the team the support they deserve.
50/50 Draw – Congratulations to Hannah Naughton, Milltown, Galway who was last week's winner of €400 in our 50/50 draw. Hannah is a granddaughter of Maureen Gibbons, Killrooskey. It's now one year since we began our 50/50 draw and we've given out over €21,000 in prize money. The draw is proving to be hugely successful and we ask for your continued support. Envelopes are available in all local businesses and only cost €2.
Yearly Subscription to 50/50 - Our 50/50 draw which started a year ago has proved to be very successful. We have given away over €21,000 in prize money since the draw began. We are now giving people who live abroad or away from town the opportunity to be in with a chance of winning and supporting our Leinster campaign. After a 10 year wait we are now County Intermediate Champions and on the road to Leinster. A yearly subscription will include membership for the year along with a chance of winning an average weekly prize of €400. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Please contact any member of the executive or email us at pro.rathcline.longford@gaa.ie if you're interested in subscribing.
“Battle of the Bridge” White Collar Boxing – Following on from last year’s successful Strictly Dancing Over The Bridge we have teamed up with our neighbours St. Faithleach’s again. This time for white collar boxing which will take place on Saturday November 14th in St. Faithleach’s grounds. Training has now begun for all boxers and next week’s training session will take place in the boxing club which is located in the Co-op hall at 8pm on Saturday evening.
Table Quiz – There will be a table quiz for the players’ training fund in the Peer Inn on Friday night October 23rd at 9.30pm. With the Leinster campaign yet to begin funds will be needed for this campaign. Please support.
125th Anniversary Celebrations – As the club is celebrating its 125thanniversary this year there will a special concert held on Saturday December 12th in the parish hall celebrating the occasion with lots of local talent on show. Put it in your diaries for a date not to be missed!
Club Merchandise – There is a limited amount of club merchandise including zip ups, t-shirts and car flags still for sale in O’Brien’s. With our Leinster run yet to get underway now’s your chance to get your hands on some of this before the games.
Congratulations to our neighbours and opponents from the Intermediate final, Killashee, as they beat Amsterdam in Maastricht, Netherlands on Saturday evening in the Leinster Junior Championship.
Well done to the Shannon Gaels U12 team who won the shield in a tournament in Clonguish yesterday. They beat Mohill by a point in semi final and then Fenagh by 8 points in the final. Well done to all.
